This online experience was great. I worked at my own pace and was able to manage my time a lot better this summer session thanks to this Library 3 class. Although this was not my first online class- I have taken math, film, food and nutrition- I still found this class challenging (in a good way). I prefer online classes because the class just passes by so fast! It doesn't even seem confusing to me at all. I get the help that I need from professors whenever I need it and I feel like I learn the material as well in a face-to-face class. I prefer the format of this class and would not want to add anything else. For example, I learned a lot from the various assignments-more than if I would have exams every week like other online classes. I think online classes are easier to get through, because everything is layed out for you ahead of time. The challenging part is meeting the deadlines, because we can get so comfortable postponing our homework to the next night. Eventually, we might even forget to do it, or something might come up and we cannot submit an assignment by the cutoff time. If a face to face workshop would have been offered, I would not have attended.

Blog Reflection 4
Information Competency is the ability to recognize the need for information, know where to obtain information, and then choose the proper source and retrieve appropriate information. Once that is done, then it is necessary to organize, analyze, and synthesize the information. Finally, a person must then use and communicate that information.
A rapidly changing environment is characteristic of today's life. Information competent people have learned how to learn. They know how information is organized, how to find information and how to use information in such a way that others can learn from them. To me, having information competency is very important because if people have it, then they are people prepared for lifelong learning because they can always find the information needed for any task or decision that presents itself.
I feel that I am an information competent student and after this course is over, I will continue to improve your information competency skills by keeping up with the latest reference tools and websites.

Blog Reflection 2
I certainly believe that libraries are still useful today as they have been in the past. Libraries nowadays are supplemented by online resources, so it conveniently benefits us as students. This online class has really made me realize that there are many aspects to libraries and the resources they provide for us are priceless. Just because almost every student in the United States has access to the internet, this does not mean our need for libraries have gone out the window. We need them more than ever to keep our youth more in touch with literature and research methods.
